sorry if this was answerd allready but will there be more to this game or will it stay as it is currently?

Amazing game, still waiting for updates

Glad you liked the lil bit I've done so far!

(+1)

i am slightly confused... what  is the purpose of marbles ?

(+1)

There's an unimplemented feature that would let you use marbles to expand your merge slot count! Someday I'll come back to this, but for now I'm sitting on this project.

(+2)

I do have one question, since you plan to dedicate yourself to several different projects, do you see yourself focusing on developing this project more or would you rather branch into a different project for the time being? I would love to see more added to this game, but I also respect the fact you may want to try other game ideas to see what you want to pursue.

(+3)

Monchin Merger is pretty fun to develop. I've got a secret collaboration game coming up, but aside from that I'm trying to put most of my focus toward developing this one! I'd consider it my current flagship.

I have emense respect for typing that all out

I find myself bouncing around a lot. I'm trying to figure out what I like, and what my audience seems to resonate with. Game development is kinda new still for me and I like the flexibility!
I do have a whole design document for this game and I want to return at some point with some fresh ideas.

When downloading it from itch on my laptop, the Unity WebGL Player gets stuck on the Unity loading screen. However, I was able to play it on my browser without downloading it.

Hm, are you downloading the version for windows? I built the WebGL one intending it only to play in browser.

are there demons besides the 3 standard ones?

(+1)

I'm hoping to add more in the next version!

Works shockingly well on Android via browser

I'm kinda shocked about that too. I removed a lot of computer-based shaders and redid some graphics and it just happened to work fine!

I enjoy

(1 edit) (+3)

The game seem pretty fine but I have absolutely no clue on how to send a demon on a task. When I go on the tab, I see the first one, I see a kind of grey square next to it, but I can click wherever I want, select a different demon before going to the tab, and all, nothing happens. I might be too tired to think correctly, but well x)

(+5)

You put a demon in your little side bar by dragging it in, then you move it from that side bar storage onto the grey square next to the quest! It's a bit clunky but I prefer it to a click-based system because it has less room for misinterpretation.

(+2)

Oh, I see, I didn't see it this way. Thanks ^^

Found an error, when a demon has eaten another one, you can swap them with an orb while a they have not finished digesting, the become unable to eat again

Huh. That's really interesting. I knew about that bug but thought I fixed it a few weeks ago. I'll test that a bit harder and get it sorted out, thanks!

What, the snow leopard released a new game?

Mmwelll yknowwwwww.

good good yep yep.

(+2)

It's simple game but a good one like Smasher and the Will o' the Thiccs.

There is more room for more demon variants, but in my head weight gain and muscle growth mechanic popup. Demon who eat a lot will get fatter and generate more Starlight Dust but they will refuse to do task, meanwhile the Demon who do lots of tasks will gain some muscle they will do task faster but refuse to eat others so they cannot generate Starlight Dust.

Either way It's nice to see a fresh game in the community, especially one that is not just another VN. Hope you'll develop this game further :)

(+3)

Yeah I wanted to do a game that was a bit more than a VN but not a massive undertaking! I've got a lot of ideas on the way so stay tuned.

Really sweet game, loved the theme and merge gameplay. If you do decide to keep developing it, I'm excited to see where it goes.

Thank you!

like the idea merg fullfill jobs make bigger and better demons could be a lot of fun fully fleshed out dont really have any critic as of right now but ill keep my eyes on this

Hi Zyyph! It's always fun to see the things you make and I can't wait to check out this demo... however I keep getting errors when trying to run it using the itch.io app or any other browser I have.

Nvm, turns out I didn't even need to download the game and just open this page on a browser :)

On itch.io it shows this error:

Unable to parse Build/MonchinMergerPublicDemo_1.5.1.framework.js.br! This can happen if build compression was enabled but web server hosting the content was misconfigured to not serve the file with HTTP Response Header "Content-Encoding: br" present. Check browser Console and Devtools Network tab to debug.

And using a browser:

Failed to download file Build/MonchinMergerPublicDemo_1.5.1.data.br. Loading web pages via a file:// URL without a web server is not supported by this browser. Please use a local development web server to host Unity content, or use the Unity Build and Run option.

Do I need to install Unity and open it as a project on there?

(+1)

Hm. I actually don't know why that's happening for you. My best guess is that for some reason itchio's servers are funking, or your browser isn't compatible with it. You may also be getting blocked by your vpn/firewall. Lots of potential causes. The game is still live for me and many other folks, though.
What kind of computer are you running it on? The game does run on phones so you may try using a different device and seeing if you get the same results.

I figured out how to play it - open this game page on a browser, because it has an imbedded window to run the game without downloading it.

What I did wrong apparently was download the game files and then run them (which didn't work). I first saw your project published while on itch.io desktop app, which does not allow to run the game on the main page itself. Therefore, seeing that it could not be played online, I downloaded it. I tried running the files on chrome, microsoft edge and operagx on a windows 10 laptop.

Hope this helps  if anyone else has a similar problem.

Yeah, browser based games are fiddly to make (I think) but are fine for small and short games. The downside later on would be longer loading times as files become bigger (not really in your case - png's and text don't take up much space) and the problem with progress saving.

After finally playing it - I enjoyed it :D

Warmhearted as always. I noticed you used some assets (mostly the music) from your previous visual novels which brought some nostalgia (yes I can be nostalgic over things that happened a couple of years ago lol).  Atm marbles are not being used yet, you can take only one job at a time, and there are three different demons.

Marbles could be used for temporary scented candles that could be used to have a higher chance to get different demonic motes or buy items for your demons. Maybe it would be possible to see faces of whoever is speaking on the other side of Commarble. Some instructions about the stats of the creatures would be nice.

Sorry if I went on a bit of a rant, I just can' stop myself when it comes to things that I care about.  This demo is already quite well done and I'm sure it will only get better from here. Take care!

(+2)

Glad you had a lil fun with it!
A big reason I landed on this type of game after a year and a half or so of experimenting is that it's so easy to envison new mechanics and systems! I'll do my best to keep adding fun new stuff.

(1 edit)

Hey, hi, how have you been (?), it's great to see that you're back and also bringing something new and interesting to your current roster of games as well so far!

(2 edits)

I hope it's not too out of the blue or even to personal to ask you this question, especially since you've just come back recently with a new game although regarding the most recent game you've posted/uploaded here, I was just wondering if any of the old game mechanics plus systems you had on the ones that you've revealed before will be available or have a part in/on this new one you've shown just now even if this is only the demo version of it and not the full actual release of it (mainly depending on whenever you decide to reveal the version you are satisfied with) that which then afterward you soon will update and improve overtime according to your own set schedule of course?

(+2)

Now this is a cute lil game, I've played a few merger's and you've basically got everything down, looking forward to seeing it improve!

Put Moros on the field so I can stuff him with demons too~

(+1)

Hey I'm glad you had a lil fun with it! It's tough to make a merge game without afk idle or microtransaction mechanics, but I'm not gonna do either of those.
Hope you'll enjoy future updates!
